Meet Yardley Optometrist, Dr. Brian Cohen
A recognized Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry and specializing in the Treatment and Management of Ocular Disease, Dr. Cohen is one of the most recognized leaders in his field. He is one of the area’s foremost experts on refractive surgery and has assisted in the training of many surgeons in this field. Dr. Cohen has published several articles in peer reviewed journals and has traveled the country lecturing to his peers. He is a consultant for multiple pharmaceutical companies and has participated in several clinical trials, honors which are reserved for only the most advanced doctors in their fields.
After graduating from Rutgers University with a degree in Biology, Dr. Cohen received his Doctor of Optometry degree from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry (Salus University) in 1997 where he received multiple scholarships and was a member of the Golden Key and Beta Sigma Kappa Honor Societies. He completed his residency training at the prestigious Eye Institute in Philadelphia.
Dr. Cohen opened his newest office, Yardley Eye Care, to bring his skills back to his hometown. Dr. Cohen resides in Lower Makefield with his wife Christine and their 3 children. He is an avid skier, biker and swimmer and loves the outdoors. But his favorite pastime is watching his kids participate in their sporting and academic events. If you don’t see him in his office, you will probably find him at a swim meet, a track or cross country event, or on the ball field. Dr. Cohen is on the board of the LMT swim team and is a certified USA swimming official. He was also a competitive swimmer in his younger years.
Dr. Cohen is a Pennsbury School District Partner working to improve community relations between the business community and the school district. He also proudly supports many local youth organizations and sports teams. He is is a charter member of the Yardley Makefield Lions Club and is a member of the American Optometric Association and Pennsylvania Optometric Association.
