MEET OUR EYE DOCTORSDr. Brian Cohen
A recognized Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry, Dr. Brian Cohen specializes in the treatment and management of ocular diseases. He uses state-of-the-art technology to provide comprehensive optometry services. Dr. Cohen is also a highly regarded expert on refractive surgery. He has assisted in the training of many surgeons in this field, published extensively on the subject in peer-reviewed journals, and traveled the country lecturing to his peers.
Additionally, Dr. Cohen assists pharmaceutical companies in clinical trial research—such work is both an honor to be asked and central to his mission to stay on top of the latest research to offer advanced patient care.
After graduating from Rutgers University with a degree in Biology, Dr. Cohen received his Doctor of Optometry degree from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry (Salus University) in 1997 where he received multiple scholarships and was a member of the Golden Key and Beta Sigma Kappa Honor Societies. He completed his residency training at the prestigious Eye Institute in Philadelphia.
Ten years ago, Dr. Cohen opened Yardley Eye Care on Big Oak Road, to bring his skills back to his hometown. He recently opened Yardley Eye Care @ Washington Crossing to increase accessibility for patients throughout Lower and Upper Makefield and Newtown Townships.
Dr. Cohen resides in Lower Makefield with his wife Christine and their three children. Outside the office, he enjoys watching his kids participate in sports including running and swimming. Dr. Cohen is on the board of the LMT swim team and is a certified USA swimming official. He’s also an avid skier, biker, and swimmer and loves the outdoors.
Dr. Cohen is a Pennsbury School District Partner working to improve community relations between the business community and the school district. He also proudly supports many local youth organizations and sports teams. He is a charter member of the Yardley Makefield Lions Club and is a member of the American Optometric Association and Pennsylvania Optometric Association.
Dr. Christine Nicholson
A recognized Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry, Dr. Christine R. Nicholson has over 25 years of experience in Optometry. She received her Doctor of Optometry degree from The Pennsylvania College of Optometry in 1997, where she was awarded many scholarships and was inducted into the Beta Sigma Kappa National Optometric Honor Society.
In 1998 Dr. Nicholson went on to complete her residency in Primary Care at The Eye Institute in Philadelphia, where she earned her Fellowship in the American Academy of Optometry after publishing in multiple peer-reviewed journals. Dr. Nicholson’s specialties include ocular disease management, pediatrics, vision therapy, and vision rehabilitation. She enjoys treating patients of all ages and often cares for entire families. She is devoted to helping people achieve their best possible quality of vision through whole-patient care.
Prior to moving to Philadelphia, Dr. Nicholson grew up in Queensbury, a small town in Upstate New York, as the youngest of seven children. Her childhood experience caring for her eyes led to an early interest in pursuing an Optometry degree. She graduated from the State University of New York at Cortland with a Bachelor of Science in Biology and the distinctions of induction into Phi Kappa Phi and Tri-Beta National Honor Societies.
Outside the office, Dr. Nicholson is the wife of Dr. Cohen and a busy mother of three children. She enjoys running, biking, swimming, and watching her kids participate in their sports year-round.
Dr. Shawn Morris
A recognized Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry, Dr. Shawn Morris received his Doctor of Optometry degree from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry. Dr. Morris grew up in New Hampshire and, after graduating from Villanova University with a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry, he practiced in New Hampshire and Vermont before joining Yardley Eye Care.
Dr. Morris’s expertise includes family eye care, pediatric eye examination, adult eye care, treatment and management of ocular disease, contact lens fitting, and eye surgery co-management.
Outside the office, Dr. Morris enjoys playing golf and basketball. He and his wife Meg and their two children embrace all things Bucks County.
Dr. Edward Zikoski
A recognized Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry, Dr. Edward Zikoski, is licensed by Pennsylvania State Board of Optometry, the New Jersey State Board of Optometry, and the National Board of Optometry. He is also a member of the American Optometric Association, the Pennsylvania Optometric Association, the Bucks/Mont Optometric Society, and the National Board of Optometric Examiners.
Additionally, Dr. Zikoski is an adjunct clinical professor at the Pennsylvania College of Optometry, where he teaches clinical skills to first year students and lectures on specialized topics of ocular pathology. He has published extensively in Optometric magazines and is on the advisory board of The Laser Center. His expertise includes children and adults with special needs, ocular pathology, and contact lenses.
